Alumna Ruby Dibble Fulfilling Operatic Dreams

Even as a child, Ruby Dibble (’13), M.M., had a sense that she belonged on stage as an opera singer. She has never wavered in those aspirations. Now in her late 20s, Dibble has amassed a portfolio that is enviable.

Starr Women’s Hall of Fame Highlights Community Leaders

This week, STA students, administration and faculty had an opportunity to attend the 2023 Starr Women’s Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Among this year’s inductees was Margaret J. May, who is a familiar face to many – as well as the aunt of STA President Dr. Siabhan May-Washington.



STA Senior Selected for State Academic Honor

STA senior Teresa E. has been selected for the 2023 Missouri Scholars 100, a statewide program that honors 100 of Missouri’s top academic students from the graduating class of 2023.



STA Announces Women’s Symposium Keynote Speaker

STA is pleased to announce this year’s keynote speaker, Becky Blades. She describes herself as “writer, artist, strategist, stARTist,” and recently authored a book titled Start More Than You Can Finish. In this thought-provoking book, Blades draws on hundreds of interviews with stARTists, as well as research in neuroscience, creativity and behavioral science to arrive at a fresh take on starting and finishing.



STA Alumna Makes Rare Discovery, Shares Scientific Expertise

Sarah Moran, Ph.D. (’11), Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Arizona’s Lunar & Planetary Laboratory, was among a team of scientists that discovered the first detection of carbon dioxide in an exoplanet with the Webb Telescope. Her work was featured in Science magazine in January 2023.



STA Honors Mother Evelyn O’Neill Awardees

At a ceremony held March 9, 2023, in Goppert Gymnasium, the STA community honored the student and community recipients of the Mother Evelyn O’Neill Award. This award recognizes excellence in leadership, community service or educational reform.
