STA Names 2025 Distinguished Alumna
St. Teresa’s Academy is proud to announce this year’s Distinguished Alumna, Marion (Spence, ’87) Pierson, M.D., and two inductees into the Athletic Hall of Fame, Kathy (Teahan, ’76) Jantasch and Sue Christenson (posthumous award).

On Sunday, July 13, The Kansas City Star named St. Teresa’s Academy “Kansas City’s Favorite High School” based on community-wide input – for the third year in a row!
STA Earns School of Distinction Status
St. Teresa’s Academy announced today that it has earned Cognia® Accreditation, with School of Distinction status. Only 60 schools worldwide earned this honor. STA was the only school in Kansas or Missouri to receive this.

STA Extends “Accredited” Status to More Than 100 Consecutive Years
In summer 2024, STA’s institutional accreditation was once again renewed. The Academy first earned this accolade in 1923, making this the school’s 101st consecutive year of being accredited. In addition, the school earned STEM certification for its outstanding work in STEM-related programming.

STA Students Shine at Regional Scholastic Art Awards
STA art students brought home more than 20 awards from the Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, including four Gold Key awards.
STA Wins Big at KC Invention Convention
STA students swept the 9th-10th grade division at the Kansas City Invention Convention sponsored by the Linda Hall Library. Faculty member Mary Montag was recognized with the Educator Appreciation Award.
