School Counseling & Academic Support

“Educating the Whole Young Woman”

School counseling and support is a critical component of education. We offer comprehensive school counseling and academic support that is predicated on the belief that all students are unique and dynamic individuals, capable of becoming responsive and productive adults. The essential nurturing of the body, mind and spirit along with a comprehensive curriculum allows us to educate the whole young woman. It is an ever-changing, ever-evolving commitment at STA.

The Achievement Center is open every class period, as well as both activity periods for all students. The Center assists students in becoming more efficient and effective learners. We are here to help students improve their academic skills and aid in their academic success. Our primary goal is to assist students referred by teachers and counselors to become more independent, efficient, and effective learners. The Academic Achievement Center is an integral part of the campus community, interacting with faculty, staff, and students to provide a range of services designed to meet individual needs.

This interactive student-centered learning atmosphere is comparable to a college math resource center. Students can schedule time in the Math Hub spaces to work collaboratively on homework and group projects, or prepare for upcoming assignments.

The Math Mentor Program develops leadership skills and the opportunity to teach and collaborate with peers. STA junior and senior Math Mentors serve as primary resources for their peers in the Math Hub.

The Fahey Learning Center houses the Technology Help Desk, STA’s library collection, and the STA archives. The Center is available to all students for individual study and group collaboration during their free periods from 7:45  a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily unless otherwise announced.
