The Dart, STA’s student newspaper, began publishing in 1940 (its predecessor, The Gleam, first published in 1922!). The paper and its student staff members are recognized with prestigious awards year after year for design, writing, photography and journalistic leadership.
The Dart, run by a staff of sophomores, juniors and seniors, is a product of the Newspaper class. The publication is distributed to students, parents and alumnae every three weeks. Students are responsible for reporting and content, photography, graphics, editorial and design for each issue.
DartNewsOnline launched in 2009. The staff of The Dart print newspaper provides content for the website, which includes multimedia graphics, photo galleries, video, a Twitter feed, blogs, a Facebook page and news stories.
The Teresa Broadcasting Company (TBC) produces daily live on-air news announcements and broadcasts to the student body, faculty and staff of St. Teresa’s Academy. The show provides school news information and entertainment.
TBC, a product of the Broadcasting & Journalism course, provides a hands-on introduction to the broadcast industry. Students are responsible for all roles typically found in a broadcast studio – including reporting and content creation, scripting, broadcasting and technical production. View past productions.
The Windmoor literary magazine prints one installment each year to showcase the art and literature of the student body. Published yearly through a donation by Andrews McMeel Universal, the Windmoor features student poetry, photography, prose, artwork and short stories. This publication serves to nurture, develop, cultivate and express artistic and creative talent.
