Alumna Ruby Dibble Fulfilling Operatic Dreams

March 28, 2023

Even as a child, Ruby Dibble (’13), M.M., had a sense that she belonged on stage as an opera singer. She has never wavered from that conviction. Now in her late 20s, Dibble has amassed a body of work that is enviable.

Dibble, a mezzo-soprano, has received praise for her roles and performances locally and nationally. She has performed in the Kansas City Repertory Theatre and the Lyric Opera of Kansas City. She has received national acclaim for various roles and performances in esteemed institutes and opera companies, including the Oberlin (Ohio) Opera, the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, the Santa Fe Opera and the Wolf Trap Opera in Washington, D.C.

Dibble earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory and a Master of Music in Opera from the Curtis Institute of Music. She will further her education at The Juilliard School in New York City where she will pursue the Juilliard Artist Diploma in the Opera Studies program. This summer, she will perform in the Aspen Music Festival in the role of Carmen in Bel Canto in July.
