In summer 2024, STA’s institutional accreditation was once again renewed. The Academy first earned this accolade in 1923, making this the school’s 101st consecutive year of being accredited. In addition, the school earned STEM certification for its outstanding work in STEM-related programming.

The St. Teresa’s Academy Athletics Department is excited to announce a new partnership with Nexus Fit Co., a premier strength and conditioning program provider. Nexus Fit will design and deliver a comprehensive program to elevate the training of STA athletes.

On Sunday, July 9, The Kansas City Star named St. Teresa’s Academy “Kansas City’s Favorite High School” based on community-wide input.

St. Teresa’s Academy welcomes four community leaders to the STA Board of Directors, effective July 2023.

STA art students brought home more than 20 awards from the Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, including four Gold Key awards.

STA students swept the 9th-10th grade division at the Kansas City Invention Convention sponsored by the Linda Hall Library. Faculty member Mary Montag was recognized with the Educator Appreciation Award.

The STA athletics department is pleased to announce the promotion of coaches Paul Winkeler and Abby Jelavich as co-head coaches for the swim & dive program.

Margaret Huff (’97) and Katie Swetala (’99) were grateful for the experiences at STA and wanted to give back in a unique way – one that would allow them to interact with students and make a direct impact.
