Students learn to write, develop, and process programs using the Python programming language, covering conditionals, loops, functions, and drawing output to the screen. Through hands-on coding and problem-solving, they build foundational skills in computational thinking and digital literacy. This course, designed for self-driven and motivated students, is a hands-on study of how to troubleshoot and diagnose technology in an educational context. The focus of this course will be to help students learn and understand a logical, systematic approach to identify and solve the source, or cause, of a technical problem and how to apply a solution.

Students explore engineering through iterative design and material science, gaining insight into how products are made, improved, and responsibly sourced. Using 2D and 3D modeling tools, they develop prototypes that balance performance, cost, and environmental impact, building skills essential for future careers in engineering, design, and manufacturing. This course fosters sustainable innovation and global responsibility through hands-on problem solving.

An introductory college-level computing course that introduces students to the breadth of the field of computer science. Students learn to design and evaluate solutions and to apply computer science to solve problems through the development of algorithms and programs. They incorporate abstraction into programs and use data to discover new knowledge. Students also explain how computing innovations and computing systems – including the internet – work, explore their potential impacts, and contribute to a computing culture that is collaborative and ethical.

This project-based course empowers students to identify community and market opportunities, apply business principles, and test assumptions using data. Students will explore new information sources, integrate CSJ Calls to Action when possible, and develop entrepreneurial pitches presented to local entrepreneurs on Pitch Day. Through small group work, presentations, guest speakers, and individual assignments, students build an entrepreneurial mindset while practicing collaboration, problem-solving, and effective communication.

Personal Finance (in-class) is designed to help students prepare for their economic future. Concepts include goal setting, banking, investing, insurance, taxes, credit and budgeting. The semester will conclude with an extensive look into the real-world purchases an adult makes and the creation of a budget to prepare for life after college.

Online Personal Finance will allow students to complete the personal finance curriculum outside of a traditional classroom setting. Students will be required to turn in assignments by deadlines and to meet with the teacher periodically to check-in and take tests. The course is designed to help students prepare for their economic future. Concepts include goal setting, banking, investing, insurance, taxes, credit and budgeting.

Eighth-course option
Students will explore marketing skills through the digital medium, including social media and video advertising. By partnering with an organization, club, or business, students will undertake the creation of an integrated marketing campaign to identify potential customers, marketing strategies and promotional ideas. Students may join the Marketing/Entrepreneurship club DECA as a member of this class to gain networking skills and authentic experiences through competitions and conferences.

This course teaches students the basic accounting practices and procedures for operating a business. Concepts taught will include journalizing and posting transactions, preparation of financial statements, petty cash and payroll. In addition, students will learn about ethics and social responsibility.
