“I was a quiet, introverted kid until I found theater. I fell in love with performing in high school and by senior year, I knew that running a high school theater program was my dream job. Over the last 20 years, I have built a program at STA that I am so proud of. Every aspect of an STA theater production is run by a student; from lights, to stage management and everything in between. By putting students in charge, they are given opportunities to problem solve and display leadership skills that they may not realize they possess. Whether on stage or in my classroom, watching our students experiment, fail, try again, and eventually succeed is the most rewarding part of my job and I am so happy to be just a small part of their personal journeys.”
