STA President Joins Women Corporate Directors
September 5, 2023
Dr. Siabhan May-Washington, President of St. Teresa’s Academy, has been selected to join the Kansas City chapter of Women Corporate Directors, an international organization for women leaders who are serving on more than 8,500 boards of directors across six continents. The community includes women corporate directors, board chairs, CEOs and C-suite executives to advance board work and performance through programming, events and peer group collaboration.
Dr. May-Washington’s service on local boards of directors was the impetus for this appointment. Earlier this year, she was selected to join the Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City’s Board of Directors and the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Executive Women’s Leadership Council. Saint Luke’s is one of the largest faith-based tertiary care hospitals in the region with a network of more than 600 physicians representing more than 60 medical specialties. It has been consistently recognized by US News & World Report as one of the elite hospitals in the nation. The Executive Women’s Leadership Council comprises Kansas City-area female executives and was formed to promote women’s leadership and achievement. She also has served since 2020 as a board member for Ability KC, a rehabilitation institute serving children and adults with disabilities.
“I am honored to join Women Corporate Directors and participate with the Kansas City chapter, and Women Corporate Directors around the world,” said May-Washington. “I look forward to networking with other women leaders to ensure women’s representation on corporate boards. I feel blessed to serve in this additional leadership capacity.”
A key component of STA’s Strategic Plan is to form partnerships with our community. Dr. May-Washington’s work with Women Corporate Directors as well as her board service will deepen the Academy’s relationships, and provide greater advocacy and promote meaningful connections for the school.
