STA senior named Commended Student in National Merit Scholarship Program

This week, Stella H., STA Class of 2023, was named a Commended Student in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program.

About 34,000 Commended Students are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students are those who placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2023 competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/MNSQT).

“I’m exceptionally proud of Stella,” said Barbara McCormick, Ed.S., STA Principal of Academics. “It’s encouraging and inspiring to see students who commit to and excel in their studies. Stella’s hard work has paid off, as she’s now among the top scholars in the nation.”

A spokesperson for NMSC added, “We hope this recognition will broaden students’ educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”
