Two St. Teresa’s Academy faculty members have been selected to present at the National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools (NCSSS) this fall.

Nicole Brewington Smith, MBA, and Mandi Sonnenberg, Ed.D., will share their presentation, “Shared School Leadership Opportunities Across STEM Programming” with a group of educators and researchers at the organization’s national conference, scheduled to take place November 2-5, 2022.

Smith teaches entrepreneurship classes at STA and is the organization’s Director of Outreach and Inclusive Education. Sonnenberg is STA’s Director of STEAM Projects and Education. NCSSS awarded Smith with a grant based on her scholarly status at Rockhurst University.

STA is an institutional member of NCSSS, and was the second all-girls’ high school in the U.S. and the second school in the Kansas/Missouri bi-state area to earn AdvancED Certification STEM Certification for excellence in STEM education. This achievement is a mark of distinction and excellence only offered to highly effective institutions that recognize STEM education as a path to success.
