STA Finance Director Announces Retirement
January 12, 2023
Dear STA Community,
Kathy (Baker, ’81) Rohr has announced her retirement from St. Teresa’s Academy effective June 30, 2023. She has steadfastly served as Director of Finance, supervising the Business Office since 2014.
Kathy has done an outstanding job ensuring strong strategic financial management for STA. As an alumna, Kathy returned to her alma mater with the mindset of lending her talents to the Academy that provided her with an outstanding educational experience. She has been an indispensable member of my leadership team and a vital strategist. Kathy has done a commendable job streamlining business processes, developing financial forecasts that will ensure our school’s sustainability, and stewarding the Academy’s financial assets.
I have great appreciation for the countless hours Kathy has worked, and the successful audits she has guided. No one is more savvy with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets than Kathy! I am particularly grateful for the extraordinary time and effort she has spent providing relevant and transparent financial information to the STA Board of Directors and its Finance Committee. Board Chair Joe Massman states, “I would like to thank Kathy for her dedication and for the incredible support she has provided the Board. She has been a tremendous resource for everyone and she will be missed.”
Kathy shares, “I never imagined I would have the opportunity to work at my alma mater, in our faith-filled community of educators and staff. It has meant so much to me to be back in the halls of the school I have such fond memories of, and to witness a new generation of Stars learn to make their way in the world. I look forward to spending more time traveling to visit my kids and family. I will forever cherish the friendships I’ve made in round two at STA!”
Our school’s patron namesake, St. Teresa of Avila, once stated, “Patient endurance attends to all things.” Most assuredly, Kathy precisely exemplifies the kind of diligence, endurance, and attentiveness that was required for her position. Well done, Kathy, and we are all very grateful for your outstanding service. May the Lord bless you and guide your next steps.
Kathy’s successor has been hired and more information will be forthcoming soon.
God Bless,
Dr. Siabhan May-Washington
President
