STA Athletics Names New Head Volleyball Coach

St. Teresa’s Academy is pleased to announce the promotion of Alex Ratzlaff to head volleyball coach. Coach Ratzlaff began coaching at St. Teresa’s Academy in 2022 as the JV coach, then moved into the varsity assistant coach position, and most recently served as the interim head varsity coach. Throughout her time at STA, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a strong commitment to the growth and development of student-athletes. She has worked to build continuity across all levels of the program while emphasizing skill development, teamwork and competitive excellence. 

A former collegiate volleyball player at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and an experienced club volleyball coach, Coach Ratzlaff brings a strong background in player development and program building. Her passion for the sport and dedication to student-athletes make her an outstanding leader for the future of STA volleyball. 

Athletic Director Kat Williams shared, “It is time for Alex to begin her tenure in the head coach role. She has served in many roles within our volleyball program, and we have seen tremendous growth in her as a coach and leader. We also value her background in mental health and counseling. With that experience, she shows a great deal of care for our athletes and their total well-being — both mentally and physically. We are excited for the continued growth of the program under Coach Ratzlaff’s leadership.”
