STA Appoints Chief Operating and Financial Officer
It is my pleasure to announce Chris Newman as the Academy’s first Chief Operating and Financial Officer. His appointment is effective Febrero 6, 2023. 
Chris has an MBA in Management from Rockhurst University and a double specialization Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems from Marquette University. Chris’ most recent position was General Manager & Senior Director of Netsmart Technologies in Overland Park, Kansas. His career also has included senior management positions at HNTB, H&R Block, and (Oracle) Cerner Corporation. Chris currently serves as a board member and board treasurer for the Sherwood Center for Autism.
I look forward to Chris serving as a collaborative, strategic partner with St. Teresa’s Academy. He will supervise the Business Office and Finance, Facilities and Security, Information Technology, and Campus Operations.

I look forward to supporting Dr. Mayo-Washington, school leadership, the Board of Directors, and faculty and staff so they can continue to provide an exceptional educational experience for our students.”
I am grateful for Chris’ commitment to the Academy and its mission. Just as St. Ignatius of Loyola stated, “All the things in this world are gifts of God, created for us, to be the means by which we can come to know him better, love him more surely, and serve him more faithfully. As a result, we ought to appreciate and use these gifts of God insofar as they help us toward our goal of loving service and union with God.”
