St. Teresa's Academy offers over 16 Visual Arts classes that include Drawing, Advanced Drawing, Art History, Painting I, Painting II, Illustration, 3D Design & Sculpture, 2D/3D Spatial Design, Weaving, Raku Firing, Ceramics, Art Portfolio, Graphic Design, Digital Illustration & Animation, and Print Design & Layout.
Our students have won multiple Regional Scholastic Art Awards as well as several National Scholastic Art Awards. Students have also gone on to study at some of the finest art colleges and universities in the country including RISD, SCAD, Parsons, Michigan School of Art & Design, Kansas City Art Institute, Minneapolis College of Art & Design, and the Chicago Art Institute. Art portfolio students display their 12-piece body of work at the Senior Shows in May, as well as in the virtual galleries below.
For the second year in a row, an STA Painting student won 1st Place in the Avila University Annual High School Art Invitational Exhibit. Junior Ellie Grever was recognized for her acrylic painting, “Electric Silhouettes.” Over 400 submissions were considered from high schools through-out the metropolitan area. Four other STA students exhibited work; Annie Bolin, Sarah Ferron, Maddie Rubalcava, and Rita Vittori. 2015 graduate Betsy Lehr won 1st place for her painting “Blghh” last
