Why did you choose to attend St. Teresa's Academy?
I chose to attend St. Teresa's Academy because of how welcoming and inviting the community was. Everyone made me feel like I belonged from my first step onto campus, even saying hi to me in the hallways when I was just shadowing. Coming to high school with not many other girls from my grade school was scary, but the shared sense of community and inclusiveness at STA really made me feel at home.

What has been your favorite class at STA?
My favorite class I have taken at STA is AP Biology. I really liked it because I am interested in science and this class built upon what we had learned in Freshman Biology. We did so many interesting labs and hands-on activities, so it was really fun to dive deeper into previous topics I had studied.

What is your favorite part of the STA community?
My favorite part about the STA community is the sisterhood. I feel like I am a part of a family at STA and everyday I walk onto campus, my sisters are always there to support me, no matter what. From cheering on the volleyball team at a home game to screaming happy birthday to someone across the Quad, I never doubt that I have cheerleaders with me everywhere I go.

What has been your most memorable experience at STA?
My most memorable experience at STA was going to Peru with a group of students and teachers on a service learning trip. I loved traveling to another country and learning new things, all with my STA sisters. From building a weaving center for the women of the village to visiting Machu Picchu, it was an incredible experience that I will never forget.

Looking back at your year(s) at STA, what would you tell yourself on the first day of school?
I would tell myself as a freshman to not be afraid to try new things, get out of your comfort zone, and meet new people. STA offers so many opportunities to get involved, whether in a club or extracurricular, so try everything to discover what you enjoy and what your passion is. Finally, cherish every minute of your time at STA because four years will go by so fast.

What advice would you give to prospective students who are considering STA?
Listen to your gut and choose a school where you feel the happiest. Don't just choose a school because all of your friends are going there, really make sure you want to go to the school. Follow your intuition and choose what's best for you.

What is the one thing you have learned most about yourself? How has STA helped you discover that?
I have learned to be my true, authentic self. Starting high school can be scary. Walking into school with 150 other freshmen that all seem to know each other is intimidating, and you might feel like you need to act a certain way to make people like you. However, STA has helped me discover myself by creating an inclusive community, full of people that care about you. As a freshman, you may not know it quite yet, but by senior year, you will know you have 600 sisters behind you, supporting and loving you.
