The St. Teresa's Academy swim & dive team competed at the 2019 MSHSAA Class 2 State Swim and Dive Championships, Feb. 14-15 in St. Charles, Mo. The StarFish qualified two relays and two individual events for the second day of competition.
Grace Coleman, class of 2019, has been selected as a finalist in the Arts Council of Johnson County's Shooting Stars Awards Program. Works of art by STA students, Phoebe Burke, class of 2020; and Abby Farmer, class of 2021, were chosen to display as part of the first SevenDays® Kindness Art Show, hosted by the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library. SevenDays® 2019 is the signature event of the Faith Always Wins Foundation (FAWF), which promotes acts of kindness and interfaith understanding through a diverse series of events for the community. The St. Teresa's Academy swim and dive team will compete at the 2019 MSHSAA Class 2, State Championships, Feb. 14-15 at the St. Peters Rec-Plex in St. Peters, Mo. Preliminary swimming events begin at 12:30 p.m., Feb. 14 with finals concluding at 10 a.m., Feb. 15. Admission to the event is $8 per day.
Grace Patenaude, STA sophomore, has been selected to compete in the Breakthrough Junior Challenge Finals. The Breakthrough Junior Challenge is an annual global competition for students designed to inspire creative thinking about Science. Students ages 13 to 18 from countries across the globe are invited to create and submit original videos that bring to life a concept or theory in the field of life sciences, physics or mathematics. The submissions are judged on the student's ability to communicate complex scientific ideas in engaging, illuminating, and imaginative ways.
The St. Teresa's Academy dance team will host the annual Junior Dance Clinic, Jan. 20, 2019 from 12:30-2p.m. in Goppert Gymnasium. $35 pre-registrations are due by, Jan. 7. Walk-in registrations will be accepted the day of the clinic for $40. The JR. Stars will perform at half time of the varsity basketball game, Jan. 25 vs. St. Thomas Aquinas.
