Courtney Talken selected to All-State Choir

Congratulations to Courtney Talken for her selection to the Missouri All-State Choir! Only juniors and seniors are allowed to audition for the nationally recognized honor choir and this is Courtney's second year for this honor. She is only one of six girls selected for the choir (from a field of 200) through a rigorous audition process which began three weeks ago. Courtney will be rehearsing and performing for the Missouri Music Educators Conference at Tan-Tar-A Resort in January.

Stars Advance to Sectional Cross Country

The St. Teresa's Academy cross country team finished second at the MSHSAA Class 4, District 8 meet, Oct. 21 at Liberty North High School. Addie Coppinger led the Stars with a sixth place finish and logged a new personal best time of 19:46. Abbie Hennessy finished 12th, Maddie Douglass finished 14th, Rose Crowe finished 16th and Natalie Kistler finished 18th. The second place team finish advanced the Stars to the MSHSAA Class 4, Sectional meet at Kearney, MO. Oct. 28.

JV Dance Team Tryouts Announced

The St. Teresa's Academy dance team has announced the addition of a junior varsity squad for the 2017-18 winter season. Tryouts for the team will run Oct. 17-18 from 5-7 p.m. with auditions taking place, Oct. 19 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. All events will take place in Goppert Gymnasium. Any student-athletes who wish to tryout for the squad must have their MSHSAA Physical Form and PRIVIT Information completed and submitted electronically prior to tryouts taking place.

Kelly Named Head STA Swim & Dive Coach

St. Teresa's Academy Athletic Director, Mark Hough announced the hiring of Bridget Kelly as the head swim & dive coach, Oct. 13. Kelly will replace former head coach Rob Cole, who accepted a coaching position within the Blue Valley school district. A Kansas City native, and St. Teresa's alumna, Kelly received her undergraduate degree from the University of Central Missouri and master's from the University of Phoenix.  After swimming for STA, Kelly attended the University of Omaha Nebraska where she swam from 2007-10. As a youth, Kelly swam for KC Blazers.
