The St. Teresa's Academy sophomore volleyball team will compete at the St. Thomas Aquinas Sophomore tournament, Oct. 1 at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park, KS. The Stars open pool play at 8:50 a.m. vs. Shawnee Misison North and will play again at 10:30 a.m. vs. Blue Valley. Bracket play will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the final rounds beginning at 3:30 p.m.
The St. Teresa's Academy cross country team competed at the Rim Rock Farm Classic, Sept. 24 in Lawrence, KS. The varsity team competed in the Gold Division and were led by Addie Coppinger, who finished 67th (21:01) and Rose Crowe finished 79th (21:07). As a team, the Stars finished 21st out of 31 teams from Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
National Merit commended students have been named for the Class of 2017. Congratulations to Gwen Doran who was named a national merit commended student. Gwen was identified as one of the 50,000 high scores in a group of over 1.6 million students who took the PSAT last October.
STA Stars Faith Palausky, Lydia Lundquist, Kara Sarson, and Emma Kate Callahan joined professionals from the medical and medical research community at the Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute Annual Dinner.
The St. Teresa's Academy volleyball teams will be in action Sept. 24 at multiple locations. The varsity team will compete in the Blue Springs South Tournament, while the junior varsity will compete at Bishop Miege and the sophomore team at St. James Academy.
