Works of art by STA students, Phoebe Burke, class of 2020; and Abby Farmer, class of 2021, were chosen to display as part of the first SevenDays® Kindness Art Show, hosted by the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library. SevenDays® 2019 is the signature event of the Faith Always Wins Foundation (FAWF), which promotes acts of kindness and interfaith understanding through a diverse series of events for the community. It was created following the 2014 hate crime murders of 14-year-old Reat Underwood; his grandfather, Dr. William Corporan; and Terri LaManno, STA class of 1979, outside of Jewish facilities. The student artwork reflects the daily themes of the annual week focusing on kindness - Love, Discover, Others, Connect, You, Go, and Onward.
The exhibit will be on display at the Plaza Branch through February 28 during regular library hours. A special recognition program will take place on February 26, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
