The St. Teresa's Academy cross country team will compete at the MSHSAA Class 4, District 8 Cross Country Championships, Oct. 22 at Platte Ridge Park in Platte City, MO. The varsity race will start at 10 a.m., followed by the alternates race at 10:50 a.m. Admission to the event is $5.
St. Teresa's Academy sophomore, Brianne Arello fiinished 53rd at the MSHSAA Class 2, State Golf Championships, Oct. 11-12 at Columbia Country Club in Columbia, MO. The St. Teresa's Academy cross country team competed at the Kearney Cross Country Invitational, Oct. 8 at Jesse James Park. The varsity team finished first out of 18 teams, while the junior varisty finished second. Katie Donnellan led the way for the Stars in the varsity race, finished eighth, as Addie Coppinger finished ninth. All seven STA runners finished within the top 30 of the field. The St. Teresa's Academy cross country team competed at the KC Classic, Oct. 1 at Raymore-Peculiar High School. The Stars finished in 8th place as a team and were led by sophomore Rose Crowe (20:33.4) and senior Katie Donnellan (20:36.6). Throughout the day 23 STA runners set personal best times.
The St. Teresa's Academy tennis team finished second as a team at the MSHSAA Class 2, District 15 Tournament, Sept. 26-28. While the second place finish did not advance the Stars as a full team, Maggie Fielder and Thais Montagner, Mary Claire Connor and Ellen Mason each finished in the top five as doubles teams and Lauren Adriano placed individually.
The St. Teresa's Academy softball (16-6) team won the Benton High School Tournament, Oct. 1 in St. Joseph, MO. The Stars went 4-0 on the day, defeated Benton 8-3, Gallatin 9-8, Lafayette 10-5 and Central 7-4 in the championship. The team picked up their fifteenth and sixteen wins of the season, which set a new program record. STA will next compete at the District Tournament Oct. 5 at Adair Park. Congratulations, Stars!
