Adair Resigns As Volleyball Coach

Lauren Adair resigned from her duties as Head Volleyball Coach, January 20, 2021 after five years with the program. Adair joined the coaching staff in 2016. 

As the head coach, Adair compiled a 115-39-4 record, which resulted in four MSHSAA District Championships, three Sectional Championships and four State Championship appearances.

Under her tutelage, 18 student-athletes earned All-District honors, six All Region, eight All-State honors, five State Players of the Year, four MO-KAN All Star players, one Evelyn Gates Award Winner and two All-Americans. 14 student-athletes advanced their volleyball careers into the collegiate ranks. Adair was recognized by the Missouri Coaches Association and American Volleyball Association for 100 wins. 

"Coach Adair was a wonderful asset to our department and program,”Athletic Director Ty Abney said. “After her first interview, we knew we had a special person in Coach. She brought energy and effort to our program, which rubbed off on the assistant coaches, players and ultimately the rest of our department. I’m very proud of the program’s accomplishments on the court, but most importantly the messages of accountability and growth she expressed to our young women. She will be greatly missed and we wish her luck in all future endeavors.”

Adair, is a teacher at Raytown South High School said the decision to step aside was one of the hardest she's had to make to this point in her career.

"Thank you so much for the opportunity to coach at St. Teresa's,” Lauren Adair said. “My five years spent here have been filled with memories and relationships I will cherish forever. I was not only afforded the opportunity to grow as a coach during this time, I was also given the opportunity to grow as a person. The support and guidance given by all of the staff at STA has been more than I could have hoped for over the years. Thank you again for this opportunity. St. Teresa's Academy will always have a special place in my heart."

The search for Adair’s replacement will begin promptly.
