LAUREN, Class of 2021
Elementary/Middle School: St. Peter’s Catholic School
Activities/Interests: Track & Field, Human Dignity Club, Black Student Coalition, Inclusion Project

Why did you choose to attend St. Teresa's Academy?
I chose to attend St. Teresa's because I knew that a lot of my classmates from my elementary school were going, and when I visited, I loved the atmosphere of the school. All the girls seemed nice and connected with each other.

What has been your favorite class at STA?
My favorite class at STA has been Advanced World Literature.

What is your favorite part of the STA community?
I love how a lot of the teachers and the administration truly care and support you.

What has been your most memorable experience at STA?
My most memorable experience at STA was attending Unitown my sophomore year. Unitown was a school field trip where, for two days, students addressed and talked about different stereotypes and biases in order to create a more inclusive community. I remember that overnight, we connected through the conversations that took place, and I ended up staying up and talking to some of the girls for three hours.

Looking back at your year(s) at STA, what would you tell yourself on the first day of school?
Looking back on the first day of school, I would tell myself not to be nervous, but to be excited for the amazing journey that I am about to go on.

What advice would you give to prospective students who are considering STA?
STA has a very tight knit community that is supportive and loving. Both the teachers and students value this special community, and are there for you when you need them.

What is the one thing you have learned most about yourself? How has STA helped you discover that?
One thing I have learned most about myself is how diligent I am. STA threw me a lot of challenges within my classes, but it has only made me want to work harder. At some points there were times when I was tired of doing homework and getting up early, but I knew I had to continue to work hard because not only were the teachers relying on me, I was relying on myself to do my best.
