“I chose my area of study because I believe that health and physical education is one of the academic areas that everyone will utilize for the rest of their lives. We all need to know how to take care of our bodies and our minds and building a positive relationship with both is integral to living a happy and fulfilling life. I have the privilege of empowering these young people to use their bodies in ways that bring them joy and explore their strengths while also teaching them about how to have positive relationships with people, food, and their own thoughts, and how to take care of themselves physically and mentally going forward in life. I think that strength can show itself in many ways and I love that my job gets to explore not only that variety of strengths but how to nurture them. “
