classical Greek and Roman civilizations and into the Middle Ages, emphasis of study will be placed on social, political, and intellectual development. Focus of studies will be on the roles of people and their ideas in the shaping of today’s world as we survey and investigate early Western society’s most noteworthy achievements in terms of their motivating consequences.
