St. Teresa's Academy Standardized Test Preparation Opportunities
PreACT – This test is offered during the school day in the fall for all freshmen. It includes retired ACT questions but is a shorter version of the ACT. Freshmen will receive their score report and original test book in late fall or early winter through Freshmen Seminar.
Practice ACT – Fall for all sophomores and juniors. This test is offered during the school day in the month of October. Scores and original test books are returned to students in November. Juniors take the optional essay.
PSAT/NMSQT – This test is offered on the national test date in Oct. to all sophomores and juniors. It is a practice test for the SAT. In the junior year, students may qualify for the National Merit competition.
TEST PREPARATION AT STA
PSAT Prep by Princeton Review – Summer course for rising sophomores and juniors. STA hosts a summer course through The Princeton Review. The course consists of two practice tests and 3 classes. Cost is approximately $199. Registration info is sent via mail from The Princeton Review in late spring.
A PSAT information booklet/practice test is distributed to all students through English classes approximately 3 weeks prior to the test.
ACT Course by Princeton Review – This course is offered weekly on STA’s campus after school from late January through mid-April in preparation for the April and/or June ACT. It includes 3 practices tests. Cost is approximately $475. Information is mailed to families in late fall of junior year.

Method Test Prep for ACT – An online program launched in 2016. The program includes: 2 full length practice ACT tests, a series of lessons & quizzes for each section, vocabulary builder, test taking tips, quick review packets for science, math & reading sections. Students must use their STA email address as their user name. Link and STA access code are provided on the welcome page of your Naviance account. The January Junior Seminar focuses on the use of Method Test Prep. Students must be registered prior to the seminar.

STA does not recommend or endorse any of the resources/individuals below; they are provided as a resource. They offer a variety of services at different locations with varying costs and schedules.
ACT www.actstudent.org free materials, tips & sample tests. ACT also offers an online prep at www.onlinepreplive.com that includes free “refresh & refine” video recordings (math- 75 minutes, science- 90 minutes, and reading- 75 minutes).
