Head Basketball Coach

The head basketball coach will provide vision, leadership, and oversight for all aspects of the St. Teresa’s Academy basketball program, to include coaching the team; planning, organizing, and supervising team practices; actively identifying, evaluating, and training student-athletes; and working within MSHSAA, School, and departmental guidelines. The head coach is responsible for hiring and evaluating a coaching staff for varsity and sub-varsity teams. The head coach will demonstrate a strong commitment to the academic achievement and spiritual development of student-athletes by monitoring and actively encouraging participants to succeed academically and represent the School with the utmost integrity. The head coach will develop and supervise a summer basketball program for St. Teresa’s Academy student-athletes, not limited to team camps, summer leagues and practices within MSHSAA guidelines.
Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred); demonstrate success in coaching basketball at the high school and/or collegiate level, preferably in the role of head coach. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; a sophisticated understanding of applicable MSHSAA and School rules, regulations, and policies; and the ability to travel and/or work evenings and weekends, as needed. The successful candidate will also be subject to a background check as a condition of employment.
