Q. What test does St. Teresa's Academy administer?
A. St. Teresa's Academy administers the High School Placement Test (HSPT) by Scholastic Testing Service, Inc.

Q. Is there a fee to take the HSPT?
A. Yes. The fee is $15. Please include the fee with the Application for Admission - Class of 2017 and return to the Office of Admissions.

Q: Are calculators permitted on the HSPT?
A: No. One measure of this test is the student's ability to compute mathematical problems without the use of a calculator.

Q. When should we receive the results of the placement test?
A. Test results are returned to St. Teresa's Academy. Those results along with our letters of decision will be mailed to students by the end of January.

Q. Will high schools automatically share the results of the placement test with other Catholic high schools?
A. No, but if you would like your placement test scores forwarded to another Catholic school, you may contact the Office of Admission and request that we forward the scores to the appropriate school. We strongly recommend that you take the test at the school you are most likely to attend. Admission is offered first to those students who test at STA. Other students may be placed on a waiting list. Our scholarships for incoming freshmen are based on a student's performance on the HSPT and are awarded first to students who test at St. Teresa's Academy.

Q. How does St. Teresa's Academy use the results of the placement tests?
A. The results are primarily used to ensure proper placement in the 9th grade courses offered. Scores are also reviewed as part of the admission process to ensure a student's readiness for academic success at St. Teresa's Academy.
