"Curtains" Cast and Crew Honored<

St. Teresa’s Academy received three Blue Star Award nominations this year for its production of Curtains, one of 48 shows that were adjudicated.

The Blue Star Awards program is offered by Starlight Theatre and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City to recognize outstanding achievement in musical theatre among high school students. The program’s goal is to bring together high school theatrical programs in metropolitan Kansas City to recognize the tremendous talent of our area youth.

The nominations are:

Outstanding Costume Design, Tier II (Hannah Katz, Sibel Alpakin, Katie Holt and Shelby Hawkins)

Outstanding Technical Crew - Lighting Crew (Maria Luna, Lena White, Gabby Ferro and Katie Parkinson)

AND......

Outstanding Overall Production!  Out of 48 shows, only five receive this nomination.  The STA cast will perform a song from the show on the Starlight stage the night of the ceremony.

STA has participated in Starlight’s Blue Star Awards program for nearly six years, with this being the first time to be recognized for Overall Production! STA competes with some of the biggest schools in the city, many of which have huge casts and more money to work with.

The Blue Star Awards ceremony will be Thursday, May 24th, at 7:30 p.m. at Starlight Theatre.  Please consider attending to cheer STA on.  It will be a very fun night and admission is free of charge.

Congratulations to STA theatre instructor Shana Prentiss and her cast and crew of Curtains for a job well done!
