FACULTY
More than 45 men and women, both lay and religious, with more than 80% having earned advanced degrees.  Student-faculty ratio is 13:1.

MEMBERSHIPS
National Catholic Education Association, National Association of Secondary School Principals, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, National Association for College Admission Counseling.  Each department holds memberships in state and national associations.

POINTS OF PRIDE
STA has two semesters with a flexible schedule that promotes student responsibility for scheduling of unstructured time.  Our graduates enter college with considerable experience in decision making and self-direction in time management.

Algebra II, Chemistry, and Physics.

AP/DUAL ENROLLMENT COURSES
French III & IV, Latin III & IV, Spanish III & IV, College Composition I, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus I are offered for college credit through Rockhurst University. French V, Spanish V, College Physics, and College Chemistry are taken on the campus of Rockhurst University.  
Western Civilization I and II are through the University of Missouri-Kansas City.  
AP Courses: Biology, Calculus AB, English Language, English Literature, Psychology, United States Government, United States History. Students may take AP exams in French Language, Latin Vergil and Spanish Language.

2012 AP Exams:  St. Teresa’s administered 234 AP exams in May of 2012. 77% scored a 3 or higher on the exams.
       
GRADING & RANKING
In the fall of 2010, St. Teresa’s Academy moved to a percentage grade reporting system. Letter grades and grading scale are not used.  If a grade scale is needed, please refer to the NCAA scale of 90-100=A, 80-89=B, etc. A 66.49 or below is considered failing and no credit is granted. The Percentage Point Average is calculated with semester grades; physical education courses are not calculated in the cumulative percentage. An additional 5 percentage points is added to the cumulative percentage for all Honors/AP/College dual enrollment courses with a 77.0 or above. The additional weight is not shown in the semester course percentage earned, only in the cumulative percentage. Additional weight is not given to accelerated/advanced courses.
