College Counseling Department
The College Counseling Department at St. Teresa's provides a comprehensive and individualized college counseling program to assist families in the college search, application and matriculation process. St. Teresa's maintains relationships with college and university admission offices throughout the country, with more than 90 college and university admission representatives visiting STA each year to meet with students. STA continually boasts a 100% acceptance rate to college and consistent recognition in the National Merit program.
STA students and parents utilize Naviance, an online college planning tool specific to the Academy. Naviance allows students and parents to research colleges, search deadlines and requirements, analyze probability for admission, complete surveys, and much more. Students register with Naviance in their sophomore year through speech class. Note: Parents of the Class of 2013 and Class of 2014, if you need your registration code, please e-mail dhudson@stteresasacademy.org and include your daughter's name in the text.
St. Teresa's serves families through sophomore, junior and senior evening programs, college fairs, monthly newsletters and e-mails, class meetings, small group meetings, and individual meetings (juniors and seniors). The College Resource Center has a vast array of resource materials and is available for juniors and seniors. Sophomores are required to take the PLAN (produced by ACT) and the PSAT (produced by the College Board). Juniors are required to take the PSAT and a practice ACT in their fall semester.
